Electric Current

The regular pencil cells used in daily life provide a direct current. Direct current is a current of constant magnitude flowing in one direction.

Electric Current is a scalar quantity. Its SI unit is ampere (A).

Conventionally, the direction of current is taken in the direction of the flow of positive charge. This direction is opposite to the direction of the flow of electrons.
